Facebook. Twitter. Instagram. Most of us use at least one social media service, and we know that they’re not altogether perfect.
But as Adam Holz pointed out on a blog this week, Netflix’s The Social Dilemma shows an even uglier social media underbelly—one that we may not be fully aware of.
This week, our crack Plugged In team discusses Netflix’s provocative documentary and offers some free-range thoughts on social media itself—how we use it, and how it uses us. Click here to listen. -Back around 2006 I purchased my first cell phone. I didn’t necessarily WANT to, but since I was going on a very long road trip, I thought it might come in handy in case of any unforseen emergencies or breakdowns. It was a little TracFone flip-phone. I pay about $20 every three months to use it. It serves my needs.
After watching “The Social Dilemma,” I am SO glad I’ve resisted any desire to purchase a smart phone. I’ve seen what they do to people.
