The Plugged In Show, Episode 196: How Pop Culture, Entertainment and Technology Are Shaping Girls Growing Up Today. Plus ‘Final Fantasy XVI’

LISTEN TO THE PLUGGED IN SHOW, EPISODE 196

I’m pretty sure it’s never been easy to be an adolescent. But since I’ve got three of ‘em at home myself—including two teen girls—I get a front-row seat for how the barrage of entertainment, screens and technology potentially influences them and the many other girls growing up today.

So in this episode of The Plugged In Show, Emily Tsiao, Kristin Smith and our summer intern, Sarah Rassmussen, join Jonathan McKee and me in this hugely important conversation. If you have tween or teen girls at home, or anywhere in your relational orbit, you’re not going to want to miss this terrific discussion.

In the second segment, our resident video game guru Bob Hoose joins us to talk about the popular video game Final Fantasy XVI and what you need to know about it.

Speaking of need to know, here’s one more thing: We want to know about what you think of our show and the conversation we’re having this week (and every week!). What do you think are the biggest challenges of raising girls in the tech-and-entertainment-saturated world we live in today? Do you have a gamer (or even more than one) at home who’s interested in Final Fantasy XVI?

Above and beyond those topics, we’d love to hear your thoughts about both Plugged In and our weekly podcast, The Plugged In Show. What would you like us to cover? How have our resources impacted you and your family? Tell us! We’d love to hear from you, and we might even feature your comments or stories in a future episode.

You can share with us a couple of different ways. The comments section below is one. Or, shoot us an email at [email protected]. And if you head over to our podcast homepage, thepluggedinshow.com, you’ll also find a black ribbon on the right-hand side of the page where you can leave us a voicemail with your thoughts. Of course, Facebook and Instagram are options, too.

Speaking of Instagram, follow us there (@pluggedinteam) to get notifications for our weekly feature, The Plugged In Show Aftercast. Each Monday at 3:00 p.m. Mountain Time, two members of our team will spend some time talking about the weekend box office results, as well as receiving your comments about last week’s episode of Plugged In Show and giving a preview of the new episode dropping this week. We’re having a blast chatting with you each week, and we’d love to have your voice in those conversations.
