LISTEN TO THE PLUGGED IN SHOW, EPISODE 147

How does our faith influence the entertainment choices we make? In a world with so many screens vying constantly for attention, it’s an important question to ponder.

So in this episode of The Plugged In Show, we’ve spent some time identifying passages of Scripture that can give us a framework for thinking biblically and exercising spiritual discernment when it comes to our entertainment choices.

And in our second segment, we’ll talk about a new song on which Eminem raps about … Jesus? Yup. True story, as unlikely as it might seem. The Detroit rap legend seems to have had an encounter with Christ, and he’s talking about that experience in a new song with Kanye West and DJ Khaled.

So take a listen, and then tell us what you think about this week’s discussion. You can share your thoughts on Plugged In’s Facebook and Instagram accounts, or shoot us an email at [email protected]. We’d love to hear from you.

And be sure to check out the questions and links below that we reference in the show!

Conversation questions to think about when it comes to apply Scripture to our entertainment choices:

  • How is this entertainment affecting my heart?
  • How might this choice influence me to embrace the world’s values?
  • Is this choice beneficial and constructive? Or am I being mastered by it?
  • Am I being enslaved by something that has mastered me and my self-control?
