LISTEN TO THE PLUGGED IN SHOW, EPISODE 125
Back when I was a kid, my dad wasn’t a big fan of my love for superheroes. He believed that these super–human beings could confuse me and draw my attention away from what who he hoped would be my real hero: Jesus.
Well, I’ve watched and reviewed plenty of superhero stories since then, of course. And I’m on record as appreciating the whole superhero genre. But lately, these stories have been taking darker and more spiritual turns. The movie Morbius features a flat-out vampire. Disney+’s Moon Knight gives us a hero in league with an Egyptian god. Is it possible that my dad could’ve been right all this time?
Meanwhile, it’s no secret that, this weekend, a new movie set in J.K. Rowling’s magical Harry Potter world is rolling wide. It’s called Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore. I think that his biggest secret just might (ahem) come out on the show (courtesy our reviewer Emily Clark).
We bite into these topics and engage, of course, in our Pop Culture Connection game—all during this high-flying episode of The Plugged In Show.
