Plugged In Pick, TV: Spidey and His Amazing Friends

plugged in pick spidey and his friends

Kids love superheroes. But parents of those kids? Not necessarily. Your 5-year-old may love Captain America, but she’s probably not ready for the violence of Captain America: The Winter Soldier. Your preschooler might dig Vision, but Mom and Dad might feel queasy about the dark spirituality of WandaVision. So what’s the parent of a superhero-loving tyke to do?

Well, you might want to check out Disney Junior’s Spidey and His Amazing Friends—a superhero series with training wheels.

The show features a kid-version of Spider-Man (Spider-Boy?) and some of his famous friends, from spider-based heroes in Marvel’s multiverse to familiar faces from the Avengers. And the show comes with more than costumed wunderkinds, too: It comes with practical lessons about teamwork, bravery, character and patience. And there’s nary a drop of blood to be seen or a naughty word to be heard.

You’ll still want to vet the show, of course. So check out our full review here.
