Movie Monday: Taylor Swift Eclipses ‘Flower Moon’ for Second Win

The love story between Taylor Swift and moviegoers continues.

The pop star’s concert film, Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour, collected another $31 million in North American theaters this weekend, coasting to another box-office weekend win and padding its already impressive totals. The Eras Tour has now earned $129.8 million domestically in its two weekends worth of work (it doesn’t even play on Mondays, Tuesdays or Wednesdays), making it by far the most successful concert film in history.

That said, Swift lost a full two-thirds of its weekend-over-weekend audience. Given that hardcore Swifties flocked to the film during its opening weekend, the drastic drop isn’t that surprising. But it could mean that The Eras Tour’s enchanted run might end rather … swiftly.

Newcomer Killers of the Flower Moon had a pretty full weekend itself. Director Martin Scorsese’s historical epic collected an estimated $23 million—high marks for a rather grim, soon-to-be-streaming, three-and-a-half-hour film. And even though it deals with a specific (and tragic) chapter in American history, Killers did nearly as well overseas—banking $21 million in international markets to bring its overall total to $44 million.

The Exorcist: Believer is showing some stubborn staying power. Despite the best efforts of the rest of the field to cast out this horror flick, Believer finished third this weekend, clawing up another $5.6 million. The film has now earned $54.2 million domestically and $107.6 million worldwide.

Paw Patrol: The Mighty Movie finished fourth with around $4.5 million—edging out the three-decades-old The Nightmare Before Christmas. Jack Skellington and crew kidnapped $4.1 million from moviegoers to mark its 30th anniversary re-release, and they’ll not be giving it back. Trick or treat indeed.

  1. Well considering how much taylor is into the false deceiving lies of the lgb agenda and how much she promoted false unbibical truth but instead lies. I don’t support anything lgb and definitely try not to support anyone who does.
