Dallas Jenkins and Paul Walter Hauser Talk ‘The Chosen Adventures’

the chosen adventures

He’s a good sheep. Deep down.

That’s how Sheep in the new animated show The Chosen Adventures is described. Voiced by the Emmy-winning actor Paul Walter Hauser (Black Bird, Inside Out 2, Richard Jewell), Sheep is a prime character in this Prime Video show, an imaginative and kid-friendly addition to The Chosen’s faith-based canon.

Does Sheep actually talk? Well, not really. Sure, we viewers can hear him. But Abby and the other human characters in the show? Not so much. Executive Producer Dallas Jenkins says that Sheep and the other animals in The Chosen Adventures act a little like a Greek Chorus—helping to shape the narrative and guide viewers through the show’s lessons and themes.

But in the hands of Hauser—a Christian, by the way—Sheep is pretty funny, too.

I had a chance to talk with both Jenkins and Hauser about the show. Check out our conversation below.
