The 98th Academy Awards have come and gone.
One Battle After Another won its Oscars battle, coming out with six awards—including Best Picture and Best Director, both firsts for acclaimed director Paul Thomas Anderson. Ryan Coogler’s period drama/genre horror film Sinners didn’t do too shabby, either, collecting four Oscars of its own. And KPop Demon Hunters’ cultural footprint was made golden (sorry), snaring awards for Best Animated Feature and Best Original Song.
But what stood out about the show? What do the winners tell us about the direction of Hollywood, artistically and spiritually? And did anyone dare challenge Adrien Brody’s record length acceptance speech from last year?
In the video below, Paul Asay and I sit down to discuss the Oscars—the good, the bad and everything in between. We hope you enjoy it.
