What do you get when you cross a professional football punter with YouTube? Well, it doesn’t end up where you’d expect.
Michael Turk started his YouTube career while playing college football, vlogging about his time as a punter for the Arizona State Sun Devils, and later, the Oklahoma Sooners. In 2023, as an undrafted free agent, Turk signed with the Miami Dolphins and was eventually waived before the season began.
Throughout the journey, Turk spoke about his life changes—including getting married and how being cut from the NFL impacted him.
But his channel took a distinct turn when he uploaded a video far different than the football-centric content he’d been focused on.
“I Mixed Every Fruit Into One Smoothie.”
Those scrolling through his videos will note a distinct change in content from this moment—focused far less on football and much more on challenges and simple fun.
For instance, Turk continued his trend of mixing every version of specific items into one: Every soda into one drink, every cereal into one bowl, etc.). He also began traveling around the country to try “5 Levels” of entertainment, like water parks, winter theme parks and arcades. In other videos, Turk simply engages in unique goals, like testing hotels made for dogs or trying food he can buy on Facebook Marketplace.
And throughout it all, Turk is certain to talk about his Christian faith, too.

We’ve reviewed many YouTubers who are Christian, and sometimes, their faith only comes up tangentially in their videos. Turk, however, talks about or references his faith in nearly every video he posts. He often quotes Bible verses and encourages viewers in the faith. In some of Turk’s earliest videos, he evangelizes, and he discusses specific sections of the Bible as well as theological topics. To put it bluntly, of all the Christian YouTubers we’ve reviewed whose channels aren’t dedicated to exclusively talking about Christianity, Hangtime offers the most consistent discussion of his faith.
Many of Turk’s videos are plain fun, whether he’s visiting unique locations or mixing all types of chocolate bars together to see how it’d taste. For those who’d like a channel focused on entertainment, Hangtime provides an enjoyable experience.
Turk occasionally brings his wife in on his activities. It’s clear from their banter that they love each other. And, on a related note, Turk is often very positive and friendly with anyone else he runs into on his videos, as well.
Turk is occasionally shirtless while working out or when visiting swimming pools. He also flashes a picture of a body builder in revealing posing trunks.
In one video, Turk visits a resort that offers shamanistic “life force” services for dogs, and he tries it out for his dog. However, afterwards, he reminds viewers that Jesus is the only way to salvation.
Viewers will hear plenty of fart noises.
Hangtime offers plain fun to viewers through Turk’s adventures (and occasional mishaps—it turns out blending every edible YouTube product into one concoction is a terrible idea). And because Turk is so vocal about his faith, he’ll show plenty of viewers that they don’t need to be ashamed of the gospel.
Kennedy Unthank studied journalism at the University of Missouri. He knew he wanted to write for a living when he won a contest for “best fantasy story” while in the 4th grade. What he didn’t know at the time, however, was that he was the only person to submit a story. Regardless, the seed was planted. Kennedy collects and plays board games in his free time, and he loves to talk about biblical apologetics. He’s also an avid cook. He thinks the ending of Lost “wasn’t that bad.”
