Award winning pop-singer, Shawn Mendes’ latest track, “It’ll Be Okay,” is a piano ballad that deals with his split from pop singer Camila Cabello. And in it, Mendes confesses that even though the future they dreamed of is ending, he will love her no matter what.
This track is about Mendes mourning all the dreams that he and Cabello had that no longer exist. Mendes tells listeners that although he and Cabello could “sedate” their issues and pain, the proper thing to do would be to move on. And while it will hurt, “we’ll heal and the sun will rise.”
None.
There aren’t any content concerns in this track, or its accompanying music video, that parents need to worry about. Yes, the song is about Mendes healing from heartbreak while clinging to love, but not much else is referenced.
