Megan Bülow, known by fans as Bülow, is a 21-year old German native who establishing her presence in the music world with her most recent single “First Place.”
Bülow sets boundaries in a seemingly toxic friendship, where this unnamed friend only wants to get in touch with her when it’s convenient (“No, you wain’t my homie/Only hit me when you’re lonely/Tired of being phony/Better listen closely/Call me up, and it go straight to voicemail”).
Setting boundaries is positive because, well, this friend is only interested in a one-sided relationship (“So you feel I owe you/I don’t even know you”). But Bülow includes a few lines that indicate she may be handling the situation a bit harshly (“You ain’t even a thought in my mind/Does that make you wanna cry?”)
This track focuses on a young woman who is sick of being used and ready to establish boundaries in a seeimingly toxic friendship. It’s also free of profane language and sexual innuendo.
