Country artist Dustin Lynch and American Idol runner-up Lauren Alaina croon their way to a hit duet on “Thinking ‘Bout You.”

Filled with nostalgia, this track finds Lynch answering a call from an ex-girlfriend who has moved out of town. And as their conversation progresses, they look back fondly on all the loving and romantic times they shared together.

This Was Us

Lynch is surprised to receive a call from his ex-girlfriend (“Well, look who it is/The last call I thought I’d get”), but he still eagerly takes the time to catch up with her (“How’s your mama, how you’ve been?/ … Saw your sister at Circle K/Hadn’t seen her since her weddin’ day/With you on my arm”).

As the two get to talking, they shares stories about some of the romantic times they had together: “I was just thinking’ ‘bout that weekend out on Cumberrland Lake/And that one time in Baton Rouge when we made out on the lake/Where we went chasin’ fallin’ stars on a hill at your daddy’s farm.”

And although they aren’t a couple anymore, it’s clear that if she’s ever back in town, Lynch would be more than open to seeing where things could go (“Don’t be sorry for callin’ me up out of the blue/…If you’re ever back in town/Do what you’re doin’ right now”).

Seems as if there’s a pretty good chance that might happen somewhere down the road.
