Book Review

Hi! Fly Guy by Tedd Arnold has been reviewed by Focus on the Family’s marriage and parenting magazine. It is the first book in the “Fly Guy” series.

Plot Summary

A boy named Buzz is hunting for a smart pet that he can enter in The Amazing Pet Show. When a fly collides with his face, he catches it in a jar.

The angry fly says “Buzz!” and the boy is awed that the creature knows his name. He calls his new pet Fly Guy and shows his skeptical parents. When he takes Fly Guy to the contest, the judges say flies are pests, not pets.

With a tear in his eye, Buzz opens the jar to release Fly Guy. Fly Guy saves his new owner by doing amazing tricks that impress the judges. Fly Guy and Buzz win the smartest pet award and become friends.
