The Plugged In Show, Episode 119: Just When You Think It’s Safe to Go Back to the Batcave …

LISTEN TO THE PLUGGED IN SHOW, EPISODE 119

I like Batman. Ever since the day I built my own utility belt as a wee tot, I’ve had an affinity for the guy. And that’s carried over to the movies, too. From terrible 1940s serials to Christopher Nolan’s dark epics, I’ve seen just about every Batman flick that’s ever flapped into theaters.

But did we really need another one? Especially one that looks as grim as this reboot does?

Our intrepid Plugged In panelists bat around that question, and many others, during our pulse-pounding, high-flying conversation about The Batman, which features Robert Pattinson as a truly dark Dark Knight. Some secular reviewers are already calling it one of the young year’s best films. Do we agree? Well, you’ll have to listen in to know, won’t you?

Speaking of great films, we have officially unveiled our list of Plugged In Movie Awards nominees, filling four different categories. Sure, we’ve covered those nominees in the blog already. But we give a few more details about our annual contest–and how you can get involved in the fun.

So come on and visit Gotham City for a bit, will you? And when you’re done, fire up your own Bat signal (metaphorically speaking) and tell us what you think of Batman (the character), The Batman (the movie) or just our batty conversation. You can batarang your thoughts to us via Facebook, Instagram or plain ol’ email: [email protected]. (Or, if you have a spare carrier bat around, I suppose you could use that, too.)

And, of course, you always know where you can find more scintillating conversation about a host of other media-and-technology-related questions. Same bat-time (anytime, really) same bat-channel.

(And check out links to everything we talked about below.)
