The Plugged In Team’s Favorite Christmas Movies

It seems everyone has a favorite Christmas movie, including us here at Plugged In. Some people choose a yuletide flick for its hopeful messages, others for the holiday memories they associate it with. So we decided to give you all a special treat this season by sharing some of our personal favorites.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

Emily Tsiao

Emily studied film and writing when she was in college. And when she isn’t being way too competitive while playing board games, she enjoys food, sleep, and geeking out with her husband indulging in their “nerdoms,” which is the collective fan cultures of everything they love, such as Star Wars, Star Trek, Stargate and Lord of the Rings.

    2. Jingle All the Way
    3. Batman Returns

    My favorite Christmas specials are:

    1. A Charlie Brown Christmas

  2. My Christmas movie viewership starts and ends with Muppets. It starts with Muppet Family Christmas on Black Friday. It ends with Muppet Christmas Carol on Christmas Eve. And I always play “One More Sleep Till Christmas” right before putting the kids to bed. <3

    1. -Yeah, seems strange, but nowhere in Jehovah God’s word, are born-again followers of Christ ever commanded to set aside a special season to do what parts of the world do, every Dec 25th, and the week prior. It’s not Biblical, but evolved out of the traditions of man. Those practices evolved out of ancient Babylon, then Constantine attempted to “Christianize” it…..which only Jehovah God can do.
Born-again (aka:saved) followers of Christ celebrated Christ every day, and are commanded to set aside one day a week for corporate worship, corporate prayer, preaching & teaching, encouragement, exhortation, rebuke…if necessary, and fellowship.
They’re commanded to practice communion, and to water baptise new born-again believers in Christ. They’re commanded to love one-another, as Christ loves them, and gave Himself up for them…..but they are never commanded to celebrate any Holidays, especially who’s practices are far from Holy.
People can watch movies about the birth of Christ anytime they like, even in December, but to not do so, and to not do anything that much of the world is doing in December, is far from sinful or wrong.
Remember what the Lord says, regarding subtracting from, or adding to, His word, and regarding heaping burdens upon others….It’s not pretty.
