Artificial intelligence is everywhere.
You probably have a few little AI buttons somewhere on your screen right now, just begging to be pushed. Our newsfeeds are filled with stories related to artificial intelligence—feeds that AI itself has a role in populating. Why, it’s conceivable that in a few years’ time, you’ll be reading stuff from an AI version of Paul Asay—just like the old Paul, only … better?
Well, that might depend on how well AI employs puns—and how much you like them. But certainly, AI is pushing into new frontiers all the time. And if tech experts and AI developers are right, we’re just scratching the surface of its potential.
Emily Tsiao and I recently watched a documentary about AI titled, fittingly enough, The AI Doc: Or How I Became an Apocaloptimist. The doc triggered plenty of thoughts for Emily and me. Emily even wrote a dynamite blog about the movie.
But you can never talk too much about AI, right? So in our latest YouTube Roundtable conversation, Emily and I dig into just why some people think AI is the greatest thing since domesticated fire, why others think that that fire just might burn down civilization as we know it, and how we, as Christians, should process it all.
So watch and listen, won’t you? Join us before AI Paul takes over. And then let us know your own thoughts in the comments section below.
