Echoing the wisdom of Solomon (Prov. 14:30), a line on “Jealousy” says, “Nobody wins when you’re full of envy.”
That’s as close to biblical sagacity as Paris gets. The rest of the CD features an overexposed hotel heiress playing lusty vixen. “I Want You” tells a potential one-night stand, “You’d be livin’ in a dream if you were waking up next to me.” Similar invitations inhabit “Not Leaving Without You,” a remake of Rod Stewart’s “Do Ya Think I’m Sexy” and “Nothing in This World,” which finds her determined to swipe another girl’s date. On “Stars Are Blind” she takes pride in making men suicidal when she dumps them and claims, “I can make it nice and naughty/Be the devil and angel too.” That cut also espouses polytheism. The frustrated sex kitten refers to herself as being “Screwed” until given the chance to make a statement in the bedroom. She plays the tease on “Turn You On,” while “Turn It Up” moans, groans, grunts and pants as it asks, “Can you make me hot … when I lose my clothes?” Guest rapper Fat Joe uses the n-word twice, and Jadakiss tosses in a double entendre while negotiating a casual sexual encounter (“Fightin’ Over Me”). Provocative CD photos (obscured here) and mild profanities show up as well.
Paris is burning. She may sound like Hilary Duff or Gwen Stefani, but her heavily produced soft-porn fantasies aim below the belt.
