YouTube Channel Review

In the age of short-form content, you’ve usually only got a minute to craft an interesting story. Jaden Williams, on his eponymous YouTube channel, is better at it than most.

Williams makes plenty of short-form skits, each usually lasting anywhere from 30 seconds to a few minutes long. They’re usually based on a variety of topics, from artificial intelligence to a random angry Floridan man to overhelpful customer support staff to fourth-wall-breaking scripts. All are equally ridiculous … and usually pretty clever, too.

But what can viewers expect?

POSITIVE CONTENT

The channel creates plenty of humorous skits about current events and pop culture. The sometimes absurd situations depicted in the clips are, indeed, quite funny—and they’re often very clever both in the novelty of the skit and in the quips throughout each sketch. And for those looking for a short video that they can simply laugh at, they may find it on Williams’ channel.

Williams explains that he is a proud Christian: “And what better way to conclude our first episode of the podcast than one that reflects the very purpose of bringing God into this series—to be a light to others and inspire them to glorify Him,” Williams says in a podcast episode. While not central to the channel, viewers will note some of his skits reference his faith.

CONTENT CONCERNS

Some skits include references to violence. For instance, a man who works in a freezer talks about eating his own leg to survive; an aggressive man from Florida tells people that he plans to kill them; Williams drinks the McDonald’s Grimace shake and finds himself tied to a chair as Grimace attacks him. Any violence depicted is either referenced or very light. In movie terms, it’d earn a PG-13 rating at worst.

We hear the occasional misuse of God’s name. We sometimes hear the word “d–n” as well.

CHANNEL SUMMARY

We always encourage our audience to seek out educational content whenever they can. But we also know that, sometimes, it can be nice to just kick back and watch an entertaining video for fun. Jaden Williams, the YouTube channel, offers a bit of that latter pursuit. And so long as viewers don’t mind some of the light language and occasional violent outbursts (always played for laughs), then they may enjoy adding this channel to their watch list.

Kennedy Unthank

Kennedy Unthank studied journalism at the University of Missouri. He knew he wanted to write for a living when he won a contest for “best fantasy story” while in the 4th grade. What he didn’t know at the time, however, was that he was the only person to submit a story. Regardless, the seed was planted. Kennedy collects and plays board games in his free time, and he loves to talk about biblical apologetics. He’s also an avid cook. He thinks the ending of Lost “wasn’t that bad.”
