TV Series Review

Billionaire Peter Swann and brilliant scientist Graciela Davila are about to change the face of healthcare across the globe.

Peter and Graciela have worked together to create a satellite called Panacea, named after the ancient goddess of healing, that has the ability to track infectious diseases and warn doctors before a pandemic hits. It’s revolutionary, next-generation technology at its finest. And it’s about to take a rocket ride to begin its orbit in space.

After a successful countdown, Panacea soars into the air as hundreds of expectant eyes watch her departure. But, suddenly, she explodes, leaving Peter and Graciela frustrated and confused. What could’ve happened? They need to know, and they suspect foul play. After speaking with countless engineers, Graciela suggests the only possible solution to find out: getting into contact with her ex-lover and lethal “security expert” Vincent Corbo.

Vincent has spent most of his life completing top-secret missions for top-paying employers. But that part of his journey is over, he thought, and he’s now attempting to enjoy “retirement” by drinking, cleaning his boat and living in peace. But his retirement doesn’t last long.

Peter and Graciela show up at Vincent’s home and ask him to help them figure out why their rocket exploded. Vincent quickly helps them uncover that this is a conspiracy with deep roots–and they’ll need his protection and knowledge to stay clear from the devious, mysterious people who are determined to see them gone.

Call In The Experts

Brendan Frasier of Mummy fame is back on the screen. But this time he’s not saving the day in Egypt. Instead, he’s playing the part of a semi-clueless billionaire, paired up with old-school protector Tom Welling, on The CW’s Professionals

While Peter and Graciela try to find what’s behind their failed rocket, the real culprits in this TV-14 show are violence and light profanity with a bit of sexual innuendo. And if you do push past the content issues, strange camera angles, poor writing, ‘90s vibes and a wonky storyline leave you wanting far more than this series is able to provide.

Episode Reviews

Oct. 11, 2022–S1, Ep1 “Snipe Hunt”

Billionaire Peter Swann hires security expert Vincent Corbo to investigate a rocket-ship explosion.

The ship explodes mid-air. A car flips and explodes and other buildings in a small town are blown to smithereens. Vincent steals valuable information for a powerful client and threatens an innocent man at gunpoint.

Vincent kicks a man, breaking his knee cap. He also fights multiple people in hand-to-hand combat, even shooting and killing two men. A woman lies in a hospital bed, bloodied and severely injured.

Peter proposes to scientist Graciela Davila (although he says he’s still legally married). Peter kisses Graciela on the cheek and wonders at her former romantic relationship with Vincent. Peter’s father flirts with two women who lounge on his arms. A woman wears a crop top and another wears a cleavage-baring top. A womans’ thong lies atop Vincent’s pillow.

Words like “d–n,” “h—” and “bad a–” are used once or twice each. Men and women alike consume wine, beer and shots of hard liquor at a bar. Peter’s daughter is blatantly disrespectful to him in public.
