Episode 226: Introducing Becoming a Screen-Savvy Family. Plus: Navigating Non-Christian Worldviews

LISTEN TO THE PLUGGED IN SHOW, EPISODE 226

What do we do about screentime?

Is there any question parents are asking with more urgency or frequency these days than that one? I suspect not. And as a parent of three teens myself, I can confess I’m pretty invested in the answers to it, too. We need help navigating the complicated intersection of screens and the content that flows through them—especially when it comes to our kids’ interests, from movies to music, TV to games, social media to YouTube.

That’s exactly why our Plugged In team has collaborated on our new book Becoming a Screen-Savvy Family. And this week on The Plugged In Show, we’re going to give you an introduction to it, so that you can know exactly what to expect if you do decide to pick up a copy for yourself.

Each member of our team has contributed to the book in their respective areas of expertise. In every chapter, you’ll learn more about what it takes to build a biblical foundation for your family’s entertainment and technology choices.

In our second segment, we’ll unpack the importance of addressing non-Christian worldviews in entertainment. And we’ll offer you some concrete tips on how you can do that with your family.

As always, we’d love to hear from you and engage your thoughts on the topics we cover each week. You can connect with us in several different ways. The comments section below is one method. Or shoot us an email at [email protected]. And if you head over to our podcast homepage, thepluggedinshow.com, you’ll find a black ribbon on the right-hand side of the page where you can leave us a voicemail with your thoughts—we might even feature your audio message on a future show. And, of course, Facebook and Instagram are options, too.

And if there’s anything else on your mind when it comes to movies, entertainment, pop culture or technology, we’d love to hear what you’re thinking about. We’ll look forward to connecting with you.
