The Plugged In Show, Episode 214: Our Favorite Reviews of 2023. Plus, CoComelon Lane

LISTEN TO THE PLUGGED IN SHOW, EPISODE 214

So long, 2023. It’s been great.

Well, that’s not completely true. Over the last year, the Plugged In staff has definitely seen, heard, played and reviewed a lot of not-so-great entertainment offerings. And we’ve told you all about them—always on our website and sometimes on this very podcast.

But this podcast is different. Instead of grousing about what we didn’t like about entertainment, we’ll talk about what we did. And some of our favorites might surprise you.

Speaking of favorites, plenty of kids—and parents—just can’t get enough of CoComelon and its offshoot, CoComelon Lane. Both are consistently among Netflix’s most popular shows. But should it be a favorite? Many parents—aware of a recent episode where a boy dresses up in a tiara and tutu for his two dads—would say no, and some are now calling for a boycott of Netflix. While our podcast segment was recorded before this week’s uproar, we’re still plenty cautionary about CoComelon Lane. And we remind parents that, even when a show looks innocent, some surprises might be lurking.

But we don’t want you to lurk. No, we’d much rather you join in our conversation. What were some of your favorite movies, TV shows, songs and games this year? What do you think of CoComelon Lane? We want to hear what you think.

You can contact us in plenty of ways (in addition to the comments section below). Fire off an email to [email protected]. Offer your thoughts on Facebook or Instagram. You can even leave us a voicemail by heading to our podcast page, thepluggedinshow.com.

And while this year might’ve come to an end, we’ll have oodles of great conversations heading your way in 2024.
