Five More Christian YouTube Channels to Strengthen Different Aspects of Your Faith

Earlier this year, I wrote a blog highlighting five Christian YouTubers we had reviewed who could potentially encourage and bolster us in the faith—whether in the areas of evangelism, apologetics or daily life. And while many of our channel reviews might end with positive comments, we intentionally showcase these Christian channels in order to provide you with additional resources for you to study and grow deeper in your relationship with Christ.

Since that time, we’ve reviewed another five Christian YouTube channels. Below, you’ll read a brief description of how each channel can help nourish your faith and educate about Christianity. Though each channel might cover content in multiple categories, we’ve identified a primary topic for each.

We’d also like to let you know that some of the channels here came from you! So if you have a Christian YouTube channel you think would be worth spotlighting in the future, tell us about it in the comments below, and we’ll add it to our list for consideration.

Evangelism

SO BE IT! – 258,000 subscribers

“For not all who are descended from Israel belong to Israel, and not all are children of Abraham because they are his offspring, but “Through Isaac shall your offspring be named.” This means that it is not the children of the flesh who are the children of God, but the children of the promise are counted as offspring.” —Romans 9:6-8

Every nation desperately needs the Gospel. We have all sinned and gone astray, and as a perfectly holy God who hates evil, the Lord would be perfectly just to reveal His wrath against our sins and punish us for our deeds. But God is also love, and He has made a way for us: Jesus, the Son of God, lived a perfect life according to God’s law and yet voluntarily laid down His life as a sacrifice for our sins. Those who believe in Him will be given Jesus’ righteousness and be blameless before God, receiving mercy and will be raised from the dead just as Jesus rose. Though we will all be judged according to God’s perfect righteousness, Jesus bears the wrath of God in our place if we trust in Him.

Jeff and Elisha, two Messianic Jews, are primarily preaching this Gospel message to the nation of Israel. Their channel highlights Israel’s (and every nation’s) need to recognize the prophesied Messiah—the One who was spoken about in passages such Deuteronomy 18:18-19, Numbers 21:4-9, Isaiah 11 and 53, Daniel 9:24-27, Micah 5:2, Zechariah 9:9 and Psalm 110. And that’s perhaps the most compelling part of SO BE IT!—Jeff and Elisha’s evangelistic efforts through frequent references to the Old Testament—the Hebrew Bible. They understand that their main audience—Jewish people in Israel—likely won’t take much stock in quotes from the New Testament. So they strive to prove that Jesus is the Messiah using Old Testament prophecies and descriptions, which will additionally help Christians learn how to better use the Old Testament for evangelistic purposes, too.

Apologetics

Cross Examined – 547,000 subscribers

“And a servant of the Lord must not be quarrelsome but kind to everyone, able to teach, patiently enduring evil, correcting his opponents with gentleness. God may perhaps grant them repentance leading to a knowledge of the truth.” —2 Timothy 2:24-25

As a Christian, you will inevitably come across those who not only disagree with your faith but are actively seeking to disprove it. Thankfully, Christianity is inherently rooted in history. What’s more, a bit of biblical study makes it easy to knock down objections both to the faith and to the Scriptures given to us. Though the knowledge of God ultimately comes from the Lord, He may use your seasoned speech to reveal that knowledge to someone who takes issue with you and your beliefs (2 Corinthians 2:14).

But where can you begin? Cross Examined, spearheaded by Dr. Frank Turek, will help you integrate some strategies for productive conversations that you can use. Dr. Turek’s YouTube channel showcases clips of him answering various objections live. What’s even more helpful, he uses many PowerPoint slides to help you visualize the concepts he’s teaching. And if your opponent discredits any reference to the Bible, Turek, author of I Don’t Have Enough Faith to Be an Atheist, often argues from purely logical and scientific points of view. Dr. Turek’s well-reasoned arguments are strong enough to give pause to even the most militant atheist.

Personal Application

Alisa Childers – 204,000 subscribers

“All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work.” —2 Timothy 3:16-17

Dr. Frank Turek (mentioned in the previous entry) provides countless reasoned arguments for the veracity of the Gospel against objectors. Many of these clips show the effectiveness of Turek’s arguments in action. Alisa Childers is likewise beneficial because she’ll take apologetic arguments like Turek’s and flesh them out for her Christian audience in order to show how we should respond and how we might apply those truths to our lives.

But Childers also teaches us how we should respond to various controversies, false teachings and whatever else we might encounter in our walk as Christians. And in order to accomplish that goal, she will often bring others into her videos, providing additional expertise on topics and helping viewers find more teachers from which they can consider learning.

Daily Living

The BEAT by Allen Parr – 1.15 million subscribers

What you have learned and received and heard and seen in me—practice these things, and the God of peace will be with you. —Philippians 4:9

And having been able to identify how such truths might tie into our own walks, the next step for a Christian would be to walk accordingly. We are justified by grace through faith alone—and this is not our own doing but a gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast (Ephesians 2:8-9). But we cannot forget that we were still created to do good works (v. 10) and that such works are evidence that our lives have actually been changed by the reality to which we claim to cling (James 2:18). After all, to say that you have been made into a new creation by Christ (2 Corinthians 5:17) necessitates acting like a new creation. If you proclaim that Christ is your Lord, then you will act like it.

And you’ll find a lot of videos to help your walk on The BEAT by Allen Parr. On his channel, Parr deals with plenty of what we’ve already discussed: evangelism, apologetics and more. In particular, Parr often links many topics directly back to the Bible so that Christians can find a starting point to study a given subject more deeply. He teaches us how we should act as Christians in a broken world, and he is quick to encourage us in our walk, too, giving us both examples of how we might accomplish his points and comforting us by relating how difficult living it out might be at times.

Practicing Biblical Discernment

Melissa Dougherty – 252,000 subscribers

Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect. —Romans 12:2

Having equipped yourself with biblical knowledge, you’ll be able to start figuring out what does and doesn’t align with Scripture. But some things are pretty difficult to understand—they might contain some truths aligning with the Bible, but there’s something that may seem a bit off about them, though you aren’t sure how to handle it. It might even be initially more compelling than what you currently believe.

In that case, Melissa Dougherty is a great resource to help you discern truth from falsehood—as well as how to respond to those falsehoods. A large portion of Dougherty’s content revolves around Bible verses that are often taken out of context. She also has videos that focus on understanding and evangelizing those who preach a faulty gospel (in particular, New Agers, Jehovah’s Witnesses and Mormons) and protecting yourself from falling for beliefs that will take away from the beauty of Christianity. And having learned from Dougherty’s guidance, you may even be given the opportunity to help save someone out of those false beliefs, too.

Conclusion

While we’ve now reviewed a number of Christian channels, there are plenty more out there that we plan to cover still. Be sure to check our YouTube reviews regularly not only to see what content creators there that we’re covering but also to learn about more Christian YouTube channels that could strengthen you in your faith, too.

Kennedy Unthank

Kennedy Unthank studied journalism at the University of Missouri. He knew he wanted to write for a living when he won a contest for “best fantasy story” while in the 4th grade. What he didn’t know at the time, however, was that he was the only person to submit a story. Regardless, the seed was planted. Kennedy collects and plays board games in his free time, and he loves to talk about biblical apologetics. He thinks the ending of Lost “wasn’t that bad.”

  1. I’d like to highly recommend the Expedition Bible YouTube channel. The host weaves archaeology, history, and the Bible together seamlessly. Our faith as Christians is written in the very stones of the Holy Land and everywhere that the Bible says that something is going to be, it’s there.

    1. Yes!! I JUST got done watching his channel and now I’m looking for more channels that are similar.

  2. I recommend Spencer Smith, WWUTT (When We Understand the Text), Justin Peters Ministries, and Wretched. They are all solid, informative, and have played a part in my growth as a Christian.
