A Conversation with ‘Blue Miracle’ Stars Dennis Quaid and Jimmy Gonzales

Netflix’s Blue Miracle is about how a grizzled old fisherman teams up with a bunch of orphans to compete in what’s called the Super Bowl of fishing. Based on a true story, it’s about fatherhood, faith and doing the right thing–even when it’s tough. And it’s one of 2021’s sweetest films.

Jimmy Gonzales and Dennis Quaid, the film’s stars, sat down with me to talk about what it was like portraying the loving Papa Omar and the hardened Captain Wade, and how those roles translated to their own lives.
