“Always in My Heart” pledges loving devotion. Working through relational trials is the focus of both the title track and “Can We Talk.” “Infant Child” states that God is always faithful to His children.
On “Shhh,” a woman’s erotic breathing provides background for teens having sex on a kitchen table. “The Halls of Desire” opens a series of doors (each a metaphor for a step toward intercourse), justifying the behavior by saying, “If you go [in], you’ll come out with a smile and that’s reason enough.” Instead of offering positive solutions, rebellion is the recommended response to racial injustice on “Uncle Sam” and “Paris 1798430,” which blame America for the struggles facing young blacks.
Smooth vocals and a catchy style, but lyrically confused. Despite several positive facets, this effort is no gem.
