A man prone to wandering promises to settle down and be trustworthy (“I Decided”). “The Storm Is Over Now” and “I Wish” recognize God as a healer and comforter.
Sexually suggestive or explicit material runs through most of the disc. Graphic descriptions of foreplay and “kinky” intercourse appear on “Feelin’ on Yo Booty,” “Strip for You,” “The Greatest Sex” and “TP-2.” Other lewd tracks refer to a lap dance in a strip club (“R&B Thug”) and a ménage à trois (“Like a Real Freak”). Implied messages are equally dangerous. “One Me” fuels the myth that prom night marks teens’ sexual rite of passage. “Don’t You Say No” suggests that, after spending money on a date, a man is justified in demanding sex. Many of Kelly’s songs include profanity or crass slang. Drugs and alcohol appear in the form of weed, Hennessy, Tangueray and Cris (liquor), with an emphasis on consuming to excess.
More hormonally charged sleaze from the artist behind 1994’s ode to intercourse, “Bump n’ Grind.” One line on Kelly’s latest chart-topper states, “I’m just an R&B thug, babe/Tryin’ to get some [sex].” That’s painfully obvious. The few pseudo-spiritual bright spots on TP-2.Com can’t begin to compensate. Don’t let teens log on.
