Album Review

Pro-Social Content

A man with cash isn’t worth as much as true love on “Most Girls.” Refusing to be used and disrespected, P!nk sends lying, cheating guys packing on “Let Me Let You Know,” “There You Go” and “Private Show.” She puts the brakes on a careening romance lacking a firm foundation (“Stop Falling”). A sexually active girl talks to her parents about inner turmoil (“Is It Love”), however . . .

Objectionable Content

She’s more conflicted over the boy’s lack of commitment than the sex. P!nk stands up to a two-timer on “H— Wit Ya,” but she’s hateful and profane. Elsewhere, she uses partially bleeped f-words to put a man in his place (“Can’t Take Me Home”). On the sexually descriptive “You Make Me Sick,” the artist gives in to a letch who comes on to her after a few drinks. “Do What You Do” shuns moral absolutes (“Make your own rules”) and endorses gay sex.

Summary Advisory

Some songs lay down the gauntlet and demand self-respect. Great. Others are so self-absorbed that they disregard external moral standards. Sexual content and barely censored obscenities prove it. Don’t take P!nk home.
