Album Review

Pro-Social Content

“Rest for the Weary” reinforces the supportive value of family (“my mother stood beside him”) and talks of a place that sounds a lot like heaven. Cohn desires that kind of marital commitment himself on “Walk Through the World.” He acknowledges how a newborn can rule the lives of its parents on “Baby King.” A beautiful poem set to music rounds out the disc as “The Things We’ve Handed Down” lets us eavesdrop on a hopeful father affectionately welcoming his unborn child into the generational flow.

Summary Advisory

Cohn sticks to overwhelmingly positive themes that affirm healthy human relationships. Overall, a terrific selection, both musically and lyrically.
