A man who chased wealth at the expense of relationships finds himself “Loaded and Alone” (a cautionary tale). “Far From Home” contains a line implying that drugs and alcohol can have a damaging effect on relationships.
“Use Me” is the first of several cuts extolling the joys of casual sex. Other offenders include the descriptive “Take It to the Limit” and “Up All Night.” The latter brings alcohol and marijuana into the mix as well (“Couple shots, hit the bong/We were wasted”), and while the song itself is f-word free, the printed lyrics are not. Less egregious profanities pop up on “Heaven Sent,” “Last Kiss Goodbye” and Hinder’s ode to youthful indiscretions, “The Best Is Yet to Come” (a teen gets too frisky with a high school girl and combines weed with whiskey, which Dad laughs off). After a night of drunken sex, the cheating singer prods his lover to leave her partner for him (“Thing for You”). There’s also a stickered, X-rated version of this CD that boasts nude photos of Playboy playmates.
Hinder’s website announces that the band is “collectively dedicated to bringing back the good old decadent days when sex, drugs and rock ‘n’ roll weren’t dirty words but a way of life.” Need we say more?
