Album Review

Pro-Social Content

The singer apologizes to his woman for betraying her with lies, promising to change (“You Are Everything”). He expresses his love to a girl named “Beauty.”

Objectionable Content

Blasphemy. Racial slurs. Selfishly, the singer recommends sex with him as the answer to all sorts of problems (“Angel,” “I’ll Be the One,” etc.).On “I’m Wondering,” a man can’t resist the temptation to cheat on his woman. Graphic sexual commentary flows on “This Is What We Do,” “How Deep Is Your Love” and “Real Freak” (which features orgasmic groaning). The lustful hit “These Are the Times” states, “It’s taking everything in me/Not to kiss you over, under/Feel you inside, feel my thunder.”

Summary Advisory

Dru Hill isn’t a person; it’s a foursome. And despite liner notes that thank and praise Jesus, this capable group is preoccupied with erotica. Encourage teens to slam the door if tempted to Enter the Dru.
