DMX prays for his enemies, seeks forgiveness, and applauds honesty and the pursuit of God (“Ready to Meet Him”).
Too bad little else on this bloodthirsty project reflects even a hint of conscience or spirituality. At least ten tracks glamorize guns, mayhem and murder. Threats include “I’m the muthaf—– that’ll put you to sleep” (“Ain’t No Way”), “I put 30 [bullets] in your head–all in the same hole” (“Blackout”) and “I wanna see him splatter . . . Use the same gun you killed them two kids with”(“The Omen” with Marilyn Manson). “Heat” describes armed robbery. DMX talks of drinking Coronas and smoking marijuana. Countless obscenities pepper misogynistic raps about necrophilia (“Bring Your Whole Crew”) and simultaneous sex with multiple prostitutes (“It’s All Good”). Sick, twisted and hateful.
In describing this disc, DMX said, “The world wasn’t ready for the gutter until now.” It’s safe to say decent families still aren’t ready to welcome this artist’s volcanic spewing of homicidal pornography.
