Coolio sums up his philosophy of life with, “I do what I do to survive . . . that’s why I pack a .45. Life is a b-ch and then you die.” He condones street violence and murder on numerous cuts, including the shooting of police on “Bring Back Somethin’ Fo Da Hood” (“Black cop, white cop [gunshot] f- the color of his skin; make sure he’s shot [gunshot]”). Lewd sexual references abound as well, often employing the f-word and referring to women as “bitches” and “hos.” He even tells a man to shoot a prostitute on “Ugly Bitches.” Of the disc’s 61 minutes, what isn’t sexual or violent promotes drug use. “Ghetto Cartoon” even defames beloved animated characters in gangsta style.

Summary Advisory

Stickered for explicit content, Thief will steal teens’ innocence given half a chance. Lock it up and lose the key.
