“Takes a Little Time” urges listeners tossed about by life’s storms to hang in there. Answers to the “why” questions lie “Somewhere Down the Road,” where mighty arms (God?) wait to embrace weary travelers. “Nobody Home” mourns the death of a small town full of childhood memories. Despite the prospect of being separated by years and miles, Amy pledges devotion to a companion on “I Will Be Your Friend.” The title track longs for a day when the commonality of people’s fears, pain and disappointments would unite them. Remedies for relational difficulties include love (“Every Road”) and a spontaneous excursion (“Leave It All Behind”).
