The anti-abortion stance of “All My Love” (“I can drill and not have to kill/An unborn child”) makes the group one of the pro-life movement’s strangest, most unsavory bedfellows.
Fully two-thirds of the album’s tracks boast of “puffin’ blunts,” “smokin’ a fat bud” or “hash,” “roll[in’] spliffs” or “drink[in’] a case o’ brew.” The House likewise gloats about “smackin'” women (“Jump Around,” “Danny Boy, Danny Boy”), filling punks “full of lead” (“Put Your Head Out”) and masturbating with a microphone (“Feel It”).
It’s time to condemn this House. House of Pain joins Dr. Dre, Cypress Hill, Diamond, the Psychotic Neurotics and others in a resurgence toward advocating the legalization and use of marijuana. Graphic violence and lewd sex compound the album’s troubling content. Definitely one to avoid.
