Pro-Social Content

A repentant man desires a closer, healthier relationship with his lady on “Water Runs Dry” (promising better, more loving communication) and “On Bended Knee” (humbly accepting blame for the couple’s strife). “Trying Times” and “Thank You” express appreciation for a lover’s long-term faithfulness. The Boyz also celebrate friendship by “Vibin’.”

Objectionable Content

“I’ll Make Love to You” is one long sexual come-on (“Throw your clothes on the floor/I’m gonna take my clothes off, too”). Similarly, “50 Candles” describes a feverish sexual encounter in progress.

Summary Advisory

It’s no wonder Boyz II Men is such a popular group. This talented urban quartet blends upbeat melodies with smooth vocal harmonies. But like All-4-One (peers with a similar sound), the Boyz can’t seem to resist including a song or two on which raging hormones take center stage, thus spoiling an otherwise enjoyable effort.
