The reverent and prayerful “Dear God” values eternal things over the worldly, and thanks the Father for His love, grace and the atoning death of Christ-outstanding! “Can’t Let Her Go” expresses romantic commitment (“She knows I’m never leavin'”). “Never” and “Baby C’mon” encourage a woman to remain upbeat in the wake of heartbreak. The Boyz pay tribute to their mothers for years of love, faithfulness and moral guidance (“A Song for Mama”).
“Girl in the Life Magazine” confuses infatuation with true love. The singer reminisces about coed skinny-dipping (the number-1 hit “4 Seasons of Loneliness”), and offers to dry off and lotion down his partner after a bath (“Human II”).
Impressive, impassioned harmonies. Smooth instrumentation. Best of all, the Boyz have experienced a positive lyrical evolution. While not perfect, these messages are a vast improvement over the blatant sexual come-ons on their last album.
