Album Review

Pro-Social Content

On the title cut, a woman out to “find herself” returns to her man, apparently with a renewed desire to make things work. Several songs involve the singer aching from a breakup, wanting to reconcile with his lady (“Something More,” “Hopeless,” “I Wish You Would,” “Respect,” “Getaway”). He relishes the way his partner makes him feel and knows that preserving that bond with her will take effort (“It’s About You”).

Objectionable Content

Minor. The singer invites a girl to “get high,” which could be interpreted as a nod to marijuana or just a desire to get high on life (“She’s on Fire”).

Summary Advisory

Jimmy Stafford, Rob Hotchkiss, Pat Monahan, Charlie Colin and Scott Underwood are the five artistic boxcars out of San Francisco that hooked up to become Train. Largely ambiguous, the band’s lyrics—at times delivered with a country flavor reminiscent of Nitty Gritty Dirt Band—won’t solve the world’s problems. Still, they’re a welcome change from most of what’s charting today.
