Merry Christmas, to Our Family and Our Friends

It’s Christmas Eve, and we all have a great deal of Christmas-centric traditions to begin engaging in. I’ll be fortunate to spend today and tomorrow with family—eating lasagna, opening presents, talking, sharing and maybe playing a game that someone might’ve put under the tree.

That game could be of the video variety in my family, and I don’t think I’m alone in that. Chances are, most of you will mark Christ’s birth with a bit of entertainment: Watching a favorite holiday movie or listening to some classic Christmas carols or playing a little Mario or Madden with your children. And that’s great. Entertainment is a great conduit to bring people together.

But it’s clearly no game, this grand event that we celebrate. So as we enjoy each other, our friends and our family, most important is the one friend, the one member of our eternal family who came to save us more than 2,000 years ago.

Merry Christmas.
