Album Review

Pro-Social Content

Isolated lines, such as “Don’t play games with the ones you love” and “For the ones who abuse his name, there’ll be no escape on judgment day” have merit. But the overall context doesn’t support them.

Objectionable Content

New Age philosophies denying the Jesus of Scripture appear in the liner notes. In fact, “Second Chapter” espouses reincarnation (“It takes many lives till we succeed, to clear the debts of many, many hundred years”). The band blames Christianity for destroying the polytheistic purity of some cultures on “Silent Warrior” (“White men won in the name of God with the cross as an alibi”). Lyrical confusion also equates love and hate on “I Love You . . . I’ll Kill You.”

Summary Advisory

Teens looking for spiritual meaning in life could be led astray by the evangelistic efforts of Enigma. It’s best if they don’t take up The Cross of Changes.
