AN AUDIO SNAPSHOT REVIEW
Furry lovebirds Chloe and Papi are ready to get married and live happily ever after. But wedded bliss still has its challenges. For one thing, with their first litter, Papi has to figure out how to be a good dad. His laid-back ways and Chihuahua warrior tales sometimes send their five pups digging in the wrong directions.
On the human side of things, Papi’s owner, Sam, realizes that his parents are about to lose their home to foreclosure if he can’t come up with a cool $40,000. And that’s nothing to sniff at—even for creative minded Chihuahuas like Chloe and Papi. The only thing they can come up with is the possibility of winning the Beverly Hills Dog Show and collecting the prize money. Ay Chihuahua! This isn’t going to be a walk in the park.
This straight-to-DVD sequel from Disney has much of what the first flick featured: talking animals, silly jokes and some furry four-legged adventure. Young viewers will walk away chewing on a few light lessons about loving others, facing their fears and sticking by their family. But there’s a little doggy poo humor in the mix and things can get a little cheesy.
