Fox’s ‘The Faithful’ explores stories from the Bible through the eyes of biblical matriarchs, highlighting these women’s incredible faith.
When you’re curious—curious like Curious George, that is—you never know what each day holds. Maybe it’s a big adventure. Maybe it’s a new friend. But there’s always something new to learn.
Based on the children’s book series by Margret and H.A. Rey, Curious George first came to screens in 2006 with the movie by the same name. It followed up with a TV show on PBS Kids that ran until 2015. Then it was resurrected again in 2018 on Family Jr. in Canada. However, NBC’s new streaming platform, Peacock, has taken now taken the reins, releasing 50 episodes for youngsters to enjoy (the 45 that originally aired on Family Jr. plus five new ones).
Parents get a triple win with Curious George since it not only educates and entertains but is also void of questionable content. George and his friends are gentle and kind. Sure, he can get into a little mischief when his curiosity is piqued, but it’s never intentional. And he always tries to fix his mistakes, asking questions and learning more and more all along the way.
When George goes cave exploring, he accidentally knocks a scientist’s glasses into the water. The Man with the Yellow Hat helps George look for the glasses later, but George nearly gets lost when he unties his guide rope to retrieve the spectacles.
George and his friends find ways to accommodate everyone in their neighborhood (including a few animals and a girl in a wheelchair) when they decide to combine kiddie pools with a drive-in theater.
Emily studied film and writing when she was in college. And when she isn’t being way too competitive while playing board games, she enjoys food, sleep, and geeking out with her husband indulging in their “nerdoms,” which is the collective fan cultures of everything they love, such as Star Wars, Star Trek, Stargate and Lord of the Rings.
