The Plugged In Show, Episode 31: Cause and Effect in Entertainment

Each week on The Plugged In Show, our team (including author and youth culture expert Jonathan McKee) gathers to take a deeper dive into the overlapping realms of entertainment, technology, faith and youth culture—with an eye toward how parents can navigate the issues we find there.

In our 31st episode this week, we’re talking about what we loosely call “cause and effect” relationships between entertainment and the real world—or in other words, how what we consume in the world of entertainment can influence how we act in the real world. I say loosely, because any sociologist will tell you that you can’t define cause and effect with certainty. That said, we can look for correlation between entertainment and people’s beliefs and behavior. And that’s what we’re talking about this week.

If you haven’t checked out The Plugged In Show yet, we want to invite you to join us. Our desire is to give you a sense of the fun, insightful and sometimes surprising conversations we have as a team, as well as providing you with concrete and applicable ideas for you and your family in the realms of entertainment and technology.
