Pro-Social Content

“Drunk Daddy” seems to condemn an alcoholic stepfather for abusing his children, however . . .

Objectionable Content

It employs profanity, paints troubling pictures of violence and blames Jesus for “cursing” a romance. Using biblical imagery, “Master and Slave” maligns fathers, possibly even our Heavenly Father. Sexual innuendo and the f-word make “Dr. Bones” guilty of lyrical malpractice. Alcohol flows on “No Mercy for Swine,” “Shake Your Love Maker,” “Pink Elephant,” “Dr. Bones” and “Zoot Suit Riot.” The singer belittles prayer on the salacious “Here Comes the Snake.” Without condemning his immorality, “Mister White Keys” describes a man “not beyond a little sleaze” who cheats on his wife. The group’s name is a lewd term for the sexual conquest of a virgin, and is repeated throughout.

Summary Advisory

These peppy, horn-punctuated melodies are straight out of the 1940s. Lots of fun, stylistically. It’s a shame this eight-man band’s all-too-’90s attitude relies on obscenities, sexual innuendo, alcohol and dubious theology. Pray this Suit goes out of style.
