In the TV movie The Jensen Project (now out on video) Claire and Matt Thompson are called on by a group of elite scientist who are in need of their brainy assistance. It's been 16 years since this brilliant couple was last involved in the group's futuristic research. As of late, their most pressing concerns have been holding their family together and keeping their teen son from skipping school. But that all changes when a rogue scientist and his cronies threaten to use the project's biological nanobots for harm instead of improved health care.
There's a fine line between saving the world and destroying it, and with a little reprogramming the tiny robots could conquer world armies if they found their way into the wrong hands. The Thompsons and their tech-minded teen son could be the world's only hope. But in the breathless course of finding answers to stop the bad guys, the family members start supporting one another and learning some important personal lessons.
This action-packed sci-fi adventure is full of solid statements about facing your worries and moving on from failure. The movie also encourages strong communication and leaning on family members for support. On the downside? Well, there's some teen rebellion on hand. And some mild violence, too, as combatants scuffle, punch and deliver kicks to the face. Overall, though, The Jenson Project is the kind of programming that parents and kids can gather in the living room and enjoy together.
