Pro-Social Content

“Paradise” promotes the biblical concept of tithing. While not without their problems, “Love U Better” honors a spouse, “Fa Ha” warns listeners to avoid a promiscuous girl, and “Big Mama (Unconditional Love)” esteems LL’s grandma. Isolated lines value family and community. “U Should” says, “Take you to church, baby/Teach you who God is,” but …

Objectionable Content

The rapper’s plans also include hot sex, which he previews in graphic detail. On “All I Have,” he brags of infidelity and recalls intimate encounters. LL tells his quarry on “Lollipop” to divorce her man and jump in bed with him. “After School” boasts numerous partners. Inappropriate slang ranges from smooth sexual propositions to coarse disrespect. A half-dozen blustering tracks crow about the artist’s wealth, fame and clout. Several more favor alcohol.

Summary Advisory

In deference to his late grandmother, the rapper/actor (Deep Blue Sea, S.W.A.T.) toned down his language here. No s- or f-words. Still, it’s hard to imagine “Big Mama” being overjoyed by the disc’s moral lapses and explicit sexual references. Better than most in the genre, but a far cry from a perfect 10.
