Conclusion

Pro-social Content

Sounding remarkably similar to '80s grooves by Kool & The Gang, "As Long As You Love Me" boasts unconditional love. Similarly, "All I Have to Give," "I'll Never Break Your Heart" and "Anywhere for You" express a willingness to do whatever it takes to forge a strong relationship. Other songs seek to restore one. On the hit single "Quit Playing Games (With My Heart)," the singer longs to return to days before insensitivity and manipulation threatened to destroy the friendship. "Darlin'" sees the solution to romantic trials in honest communication.

Objectionable Content

Though the BSB song "Get Down" actually speaks of dancing, that term is also slang for sex. Innuendo peppers "If You Want It to Be Good Girl (Get Yourself a Bad Boy)," a Prince/Michael Jackson hybrid with lines such as, "There's a thing your mama shouldn't know/There's a thing I really wanna show you." A disappointing final cut.

Summary Advisory

The liner notes include Phil. 4:3. And lyrically, these guys have some very positive things to say. With the noted exceptions, their debut disc shows promise.
