A SNAPSHOT REVIEW
Kate Abbott is a security officer at the U.S. embassy in London who senses that not everything is on the up and up with a certain Romanian doctor with expertise in the area of combustible fuels. The doc claims he just wants a visa to attend a medical conference, but Kate has her doubts. When she explains her suspicions to her boss, he quickly dismisses her concerns. However, her inquiries rattle a few cages. And soon after, a restaurant where she’s a patron is blown to smithereens.
To Kate’s surprise, she becomes the chief suspect for the bombing and a related murder. Now she must go on the run in hopes of proving her innocence. During cat-and-mouse chases with the bad guys, Kate realizes the Romanian doctor is involved in a terrorist plot set to occur in New York’s Time Square on New Year’s Eve. But how can she stop a planned act of terror when the good guys think she’s gone rogue and the bad guys are on her tail?
This action flick underscores self-sacrifice as it wrestles with how far a person should go to protect others. But low production values, harsh profanities and misogynistic fight scenes mar things.
