LISTEN TO THE PLUGGED IN SHOW, EPISODE 52
It seems like just yesterday we launched The Plugged In Show. But obviously, none of us had any idea what the year ahead would hold for all of us—including how much time we might be spending at home due to coronavirus lockdowns. And how much extra time we might have to, among other things, watch TV.
With that in mind, this week our Plugged In team plunges into the realm of TV as we know it today. It’s a place of seemingly endless options where water-cooler hits that everyone watches have become the exception, not the rule. Still, there are some shows worth noting—both for their positive and at times problematic messages. We’ll talk about both here, including some of the fall’s biggest releases as well as under-the-radar viewing that you might be interested in checking out.
We also discuss the trends we’re seeing on TV in general—whether we’re talking about the broadcast variety or the myriad streaming options available via Netflix, Apple TV+, Disney+ and so many others.
So wherever and however you listen to your podcasts—whether it’s during your daily exercise routine or snuggled up on the couch with a pumpkin spice latte and blanket—we invite you to listen in on our conversation about the state of TV as we approach the merciful conclusion of 2020.
If you haven’t done so recently, be sure to check out Plugged In’s TV review section. Each week, we review one or two new shows, as well as checking out new episodes of series we’ve reviewed before.
