Mobius Band
All Music Guide
Named after the geometrical term for a non-orientable surface that cannot be embedded in a plane, the Mobius Bands music is similarly hard to place, lying somewhere between bittersweet indie rock, electronic pop, and alt-country leanings. The band, which features Peter Sax, Noam Schatz, and Ben Sterling, spent its early years in Shutesberry, MA, and self-released two EPs, Two and Three, in 2002. Ghostly International signed the Mobius Band and the group worked with producer Peter Katis in New York on new material. Early in 2005, the aptly named City vs Country EP found the group moving in a more poppy, streamlined direction, a trend continued by that years full-length debut, The Loving Sounds of Static.
